Quraan Conference by Non Muslim Clergy

This was a historic conference; it has never been done in the history of the world, where “troublesome” verses from Quraan were explained by non-Muslim clergy. Myths are manufactured about Quraan without any substantiation; it is an old business of maligning others to have a momentary gain. The purpose of this conference was to remove such myths in an open forum in the public and restore the cohesiveness of our society and builds a safe and secure America. Muslim Challenges Baptist Pastor

Pastor Robert Jeffress called Quraan an evil book written by a false prophet, Mike visited the pastor to share a different understanding followed by interviews on Local Fox News and NBC channel, followed by Dallas Morning News exchanges leading to Quraan Conference to demystify the myths. My challenge to him was to find me three verses in Quraan that are evil, like you have said, here is the copy of the translation, and if you do, I will join your ministry, the pastor has chickened out since. Quraan Mistranslations seminar at Parliament of Religions

Quraan has been deliberately mistranslated by darn politicians. “In the In the Middle Ages, European leaders commissioned a hostile Quran translation to foster warfare against Muslim invaders. Later, Muslim leaders produced another translation to inflame Muslims against Christians and Jews” It was incredible with a name like “Mike” many a Arab and Iranian clergy attended the seminar wanting to hear what a “Christian” was going to explain about Quraan. It was an eye opener for the audience and clergy alike. It is a crime to mistranslate the holy book and criminal to propagate it. Mike will present a full program on that, indeed, Dr. Tariq Ramadan liked part of the presentation.

Skit about Stereotyping

The GLBT Coalition of Dallas put together a program at Myerson Symphony Hall to share the effects of stereotyping on societies. Reem Joined me in presenting a skit on stereotyping it was played out for two nights. In the pic are Reem and I representing Muslims, Ms. Madono, Dallas City Council woman representing Hispanics and a gentleman representing the African Americans. I am blessed to participate in every community in Dallas. We have to create a society where we learn to know about each other, with that conflicts fade and solutions emerge.

Imam of Al-Aqsa Ramadan 2010

Ramadan 2010 was experiential for me, I did my Iftaar (breaking the fast) at every possible Mosque in Dallas - Sunni, Shia, Ahmadiyya, Bohra and did miss the Ismaili center. However I was blessed to pray Fajr and break the fast at Al-Aqsa Mosque and prayed in both Aqsa and the dome of the rock. Apparently we cannot take pictures inside the mosque, but the Imam understood my purpose and allowed his picture taken right off the mimbar (podium). I was also presented with a copy of the Quraan by the Mufti of Jerusalem which I treasure.

Arab Imams on Interfaith

I thank Allah for presenting limitless opportunities to talk about the Pluralistic values embedded in Islam and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) being the first interfaith dialoguer. I have been a small part of the interfaith dialogue movement in Saudi Arabia, which began in 2003 in Dallas. In 2010 about twelve Arab Imams visited Dallas and I hosted the luncheon to talk about Interfaith in Islam. I can sum this up in one sentence, “those imams were ahead of us in pluralism I Islam, every sentence I uttered, they were producing Prophets Sayings and verses from Quraan.” God willing one major good is going to come out of it; stopping the printing and distribution of mistranslated Quraan by Muslims; Al-Hilali translation.
